Qatar Airways A350 Qsuite Business Class Review

Qatar Airways Qsuite is known as the best business class flight in the world, and for good reason. When you fly in Qsuite, you’ll think you’re staying at a 5-star luxury hotel.

First, let’s talk about the Qsuite services.

From the moment you board the plane, in Qsuite you are treated like royalty. You’re welcomed with a scented hand towel and offered a beverage of your choice along with warm, roasted premium nuts.

After getting settled in, you’ll find your own personal luxury toiletry bag consisting of Italy’s Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio products, including lip balm, hydrating facial mist, and anti-aging moisturizer cream. Whenever you’re ready, slip into your own super comfy, 100% cotton pajamas, and slippers.

Now, onto the good stuff – Meals & Drinks!

In Qsuite, you get an on-demand à la carte menu that lets you enjoy mouth-watering dishes whenever you want! Designed by some of the best chefs in the world, the dining options are incredible. From savory steaks to seared fresh seafood and premium veggies, there’s food to make anyone happy.

Not only do you get premium food, but you also get unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including premium wines, champagnes, whiskey, and more! And, you get to enjoy all of this in spacious seats providing a wonderful setup for dining in the sky.

While you’re dining or relaxing, you can enjoy Qatar Airways world-class in-flight entertainment options, which include the most recent blockbuster hits, classic films, tv shows, music, and games. And, each seat comes with a touch-screen media panel including an all-access power port with USB, HDMI, and NFC plug-in capabilities.

Now, I’d be remiss to not mention the people who ensure you have the best service in the sky. Qatar Airways’ business class staff may be the nicest, most attentive airline employees we’ve had the pleasure of flying with. They can anticipate almost all of your needs and will bend over backwards to ensure you have the best flight experience in the world.

Okay, the service sounds great, but what about the Qsuite seat design and layout?

The Qsuite business class cabin interiors are designed in beautiful burgundy and grey colors enhanced with warm rose gold detailing. The seats are made of fine fabrics and incredibly spacious.

The Qsuite business class cabin with its quad configuration of rear and forward-facing seats provides the most spacious layout for your comfort.

The quad seat design provides a private space that is fully adaptable for you and your flying companion’s needs. For instance, the panels are moveable allowing you to transform your space for privacy when sleeping, openness for socializing, or work with colleagues.

And, when you’re ready to sleep you’ll be offered turn-down service where your space will be transformed into a private room for ultimate privacy and comfort. Qsuite’s turndown service provides pillows, a quilted mattress, and soft duvet with slippers and sleepwear!

And, with business class seats in the middle, you and your partner’s seats actually connect to form a full-sized double bed! After closing your seat panels, you have your own private room in business class!

It’s amazing.

As if the service and design weren’t enough, when you fly through Doha’s Hamad International Airport, you get free access to the Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Lounge.

This lounge is the most luxurious one we’ve ever visited so it’s a huge benefit when you have a layover in Doha, which we did on our way to Kenya.

Spread over 10,000 square meters, the Al Mourjan Business Lounge is 10 times the size of an Olympic sized swimming pool. With all that space, they have a variety of rooms to suit anyone including a garden resort area, multiple quiet rooms, family rooms, a game room, a business center, and more.

For food options, they have multiple dining options from light snacks to full gourmet meals and drinks. Plus, the interior design is decorated in marble with high ceilings, tranquil water features, designer furniture and more to create an elegant Arabian ambiance. And, for those needing to stay connected, they have Wi-Fi and lots of plugs for your phone and laptop.

By now, I think you get it. Flying on Qatar Airways business class in Qsuite is an incredible experience that will leave you rejuvenated and ready to kick off your vacation with no jet lag.

Moving on, let’s dive into getting the best deals to fly Qsuite business class.

Travel Hacking your way to fly business class in Qsuite for as low as $15

Luxurious business class flights, such as the one in Qsuite, cost thousands of dollars per person for a one-way flight. But, if you follow these travel hacking methods you can spend as little as $15 to fly on these flights.

With that, let’s start with finding a business class flight we want and so we can find the best deals.

How much does a normal business class flight cost on Qsuite?

For this example, we’ll search for a Qatar Airways business class flight from Dallas, TX to Nairobi, Kenya, which will get us to that dream safari trip in Kenya’s Masai Mara. I searched for flights on August 1, 2020 for this example.

Qatar Airways Business Class Qsuite Fare Costs

By searching Google Flights, we find a couple of flights on Qatar Airways that have Qsuite, which cost $6,239 per person, one-way.

You could buy this fare outright, but who has that much money sitting around for business class flights?

Me neither. So, let’s start travel hacking.

Travel Hack: How to use AAdvantage Miles to Redeem Qsuite business class flights for $15

If you don’t already know, Qatar Airways is part of the Oneworld airline alliance, which also includes American Airlines.

So, you can use your AAdvantage miles to book an award flight on AA.com to fly Qatar Airways business class.

Searching for the same $6,239 business class flight above on American Airlines’ website, as an award flight, you can see that it only costs 75,000 AAdvantage miles, plus $15.70 in award taxes and fees!

What an awesome redemption value! By using your AAdvantage miles, you can save $6,223 on this flight!

Refer to the screenshots below.

Now, from my research, I found that American Airlines expects $3.1 Billion worth of loyalty miles, or over 140 Billion miles, to be redeemed in 2020.

So, a lot of people have thousands of AAdvantage miles sitting unused in their American Airlines account ready to be used. The sad part is that most people never use their miles or redeem them for bad deals. Use them for a Qsuite business class flight and you’ll get one of the highest redemption values around!

But what if you don’t have any AAdvantage miles to book an award flight in Qsuite?

Keep reading and you’ll learn two more ways to save thousands.

Travel Hack: How to earn 75K AAdvantage Miles to Redeem Qsuite business class flights for $786

You can still get a great deal on the Qatar Airways business class flight in Qsuite if you don’t currently have 75,000 AAdvantage miles.

This travel hack involves signing up for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite credit card, which comes with a 50,000 AAdvantage mileage bonus!

Once approved, you need to spend at least $2,500 within 3 months after opening your credit card account. This card comes with a $99 annual fee, which is waived for the first year. Refer to details below.

Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite Credit Card

What we typically do when signing up for a new travel credit card is move all auto-pay expenses to the new card immediately. Then, we charge all of our normal expenses to the new card until we hit the minimum required spend threshold to earn the bonus.

Also, you can signup for one card under your name and your partner can sign up for their own credit card under their name. By doing this, you’ll each get your 50,000 bonus points after hitting each spend threshold so you both can fly business class!

Note: Always forecast your expenses before applying for the credit card to ensure you’ll hit the spend threshold to earn your bonus!

Okay, you’ve got your new travel credit card with 50,000 AAdvantage miles in your American Airlines account. Now, you still need 25,000 miles to redeem that business class flight on Qatar Airways.

Next, you’ll need to buy the remaining miles on American Airlines website. When buying miles, you get additional bonus miles based on how many miles you buy.

So, to get 25,000 miles, you’ll buy 20,000 miles and receive 10,000 bonus miles for a total of 30,000 miles. This will cost you $671.88 in total. See details below.

American Airlines Award Flight Example Buying 25K AA Miles

Now, you finally have your 75,000 American Airlines mile ready to book your award flight in Qsuite!

By using this travel hack, you only spend $687.58, or $786.58 if you include the annual credit card fee, which is due in 12 months, plus the award redemption fees & taxes.

All in, by signing up for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite credit card, you’ll save $5,452.42 when flying on Qatar Airways business class!

Okay, what if you can’t get approved for the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select World Elite credit card? You’re still in luck!

How to purchase 75K AAdvantage Miles to fly Qsuite business class for $1,639

The last travel hack for you to know about is to simply purchase AAdvantage miles directly from American Airlines and use them to redeem the Qatar Airways Qsuite business class flight.

What you’ll need to do is head over to AA.com to buy the miles. Currently, you can purchase 50,000 miles and receive 25,000 bonus miles giving you 75,000 miles in total.

This will cost you $1,623.25, which you can then redeem for the Qatar Airways flight.

American Airlines Award Flight Example Buying 75K AA Miles

That’s definitely more than the first two travel hacking strategies, but you’ll still get to fly business class with Qatar Airways while saving $4,600!

So, you could book a one-way flight in business class to Kenya, enjoy your dream safari trip, then book a one-way economy flight back home.

By doing this, you’ll get to fly business class in Qsuite, go on that bucket list safari and get back home for around $2,000 per person.

Not bad for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

How much you save on Qatar Airways Business Class by travel hacking!

Okay, let’s compare the three ways you can save thousands of dollars and enjoy that business class flight with Qatar Airways.

Refer to the table below to see how the strategies compare.

Qatar Airways Business Class Flight Travel Hacking Analysis

As you can see, the best scenario is if you already have 75,000 American Airlines miles. This will cost you only $15.70 and save you $6,239!

Plus, you’ll earn $0.083 per mile for your 75,000 miles. Given the fact AA miles are typically valued at $0.017 per mile, you’re getting almost 6 times the value out of your miles!

By signing up for the AAdvantage credit card, you’ll spend only $786 in total and save $5,452! With this strategy you’ll earn $0.073 per mile, which is 5.2 times the value normally obtained with AAdvantage.

Lastly, by buying 75K miles from American Airlines, you’ll spend $1,639 in total, but still save $4,600 for Qatar Airways business class flights! This strategy will give you $0.061 per mile, or 4.4 times the value generally earned with AAdvantage miles.
