“What do you pack for a year of travel?” “How in the world do you fit all of that?” “Your suitcase is how small?”

Before we left, we spent endless hours reading blogs and watching videos about what to pack and came up with one conclusion: packing is personal, there is no one Ultimate Packing List. There are certainly things everyone will need but when it comes to clothes, it’s really dealer’s (packer’s) choice!

We are firm believers that “travel clothes” do not need to be different from whatever is already in your closet. Don’t feel like you need to get some crazy performance fabric or frumpy walking shoes. You certainly don’t need to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe – although what a great excuse, you do you! Wear what is comfortable – whatever that means to you. 

We are most comfortable in something a little more dressed up than the average backpacker. If you want to know what that looks like, please enjoy our packing lists. We even sorted them by season and destination so you can get an idea of what to think about for each time and place.
